Interior second floor - new bedroom / bath

There is a the little window into the existing bedroom closet. This was behind the wall so this was exterior at some point. All of the upstairs closets have tiny windows to keep things fresh.

The existing walls today were pretty much sidings, studs, plaster. Nothing else. No insulation, plywood, etc.

Exterior - March 26, 2010

They have the new portion siding done and the roof went on yesterday. If I get the paint color chosen, they can start the deck next week (although rain is in the forecast for Mon-Wed). Note the serious looking deck supports per the structural engineers requirements.

Upstairs, new addition

This will be a master bathroom (2 full baths! yay!) and a master bedroom closet. The old sunroom will be the new master bedroom. Not huge, but nice windows and an attached libary/study.

Here's the back of the house just after they have torn off the back stairs and removed the bushes and funky glass patio thing.

Kitchen before pics

Before pictures of our kitchen. We're pretty sure this was redone in 1953 according to city records. New flooring went in before we bought the house (found evidence in the basement of an order from early 2005). The oven is from the late 1940s according the little old man who fixed it after we moved in. Cabinets are painted metal with latches - i can imagine nothing every falling out of them in an earthquake!

Almost done in this pic. I'll have to snap a new picture with the faucet and towel/tp holders in. Unfortunately the pedestal part broke for them while installing the faucet, so it's not 100% yet. Waiting on that part to arrive.

Sink room finished

The room on the right that housed the sink is now pantry, storing most of the kitchen which has been ripped out. Limestone tile and same paint as the bathroom next door.
